Job Description Summary

Onondaga Community College is accepting applications from individuals qualified to teach Health Information Technology. This position requires day and/or evening availability and teaching face to face classes on campus.

Major Responsibilities

-Prepare and present lectures;

-Respond to student queries (e.g. email or voice mail) as needed, in a reasonably timely manner;

-Write, administer, and grade all student assignments and exams;

-Compute grades and submit them on time.

Minimum Qualifications

-RHIA credential with Bachelor’s degree in Medical Record Science/Health Information from a regionally accredited college or university AND a Masters in Health Information or Health Informatics; Health Care Administration; Business Administration or Education with minimum of 18 credits in Health Information/Informatics from a regionally accredited college or university.

-Candidates must be an active AHIMA member with an RHIA credential.

-A minimum of five (5) years work experience is required plus either experience in teaching or as a conference speaker.

Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of products.
